Default Nightster/Sportster Tank Lift

Fellas,

I'm looking into what it takes to do a tank lift for my Nightster. I noticed there are some kits available on eBay, but didn't know if that is all it takes. For you guys that have done this can you let me know how you did it. Also, if anybody has pictures of their Nightster or other Sportster the has had the tank lifted please post.

Thanks for you help!!!!

Hendo

I lifted the front of mine 1.5" out of necessity because of a clearance issue when I installed some raked cups.
I just made spacers out of scrap aluminum for each side.
You can see in the photo that I made 2 different holes for adjustment.. one at 2 inches and the other at 1.5"
I cleaned it up now with just a spacer with one hole at 1.5 but you get the idea.

this is the bracket you can get at lowes home depot tractor supply or any hardware store. it only cost $2.00 compared to the kits you find on ebay for $25.00. paint it black and it looks awesome! cool part is they make them in 1'' 2'' 3'' 4'' so take your pick!
