Also was taking out the top belt cover hard? Got any torque specs?

 

hey Blackycck... not hard at all... the front part of the seat requires the removal of the tank nut/bolt.. because the front spring seat bracket is secured there.. the rear bracket is just one bolt.. ... easy stuff..

 

Thanks 71Tike.. yeah.. the dig the fenderless look too.. :-)... and I am going to keep it that way.. I removed both top/bottom belt guards and the belt sprocket guard too because the struts are so low that the belt kept hitting the sprocket guard every time I hit a bump... removal of all these pieces was fairly easy.... I have no torque specs at hand.. but I can find them if you need them... I have a service manual..

dude.. with all the stuff I removed the bike is probably 40 pounds lighter.. hehehee

 

You should probably tighten your belt. Your struts are the same exact length eye to eye as mine and I had to tighten my belt. A friend of mine took a video clip of me riding and the belt was hopping all over the place.

 

Out riding on Saturday and the security lamp and left indicator notification lamp came on. Then, when indicating right all my indicators flashed ! Odd, nothing in the manual so took it to the dealer. There are 4 wires for the rear lights running under the seat, eventually the protective sleave wears out and they contact each other shorting the power. The dealers service guys re-routed the wires and insulated them so now under the frame not the seat. So, if your lights go on the blink, you know why. I think HD should issue a notice to all dealers to sort it out during your next visit !

finally snapped some picks of my bike, done a few things to it but i'm just gettin started,

 

Has anyone installed forward controls by themselves?
My dealer wants 2 hours labor to install them but it doesn't look to difficult to install. Are there instructions in the kit. I could save myself a couple hundred bucks if i do it myself. Any input would be appreciated.

 

do it your self save some $$$ i did mine and it was fun you can do it.
