**How Many Iron 883 Owners Out There?**
#491
1. Lowered the mirrors below the bars.
2. HD Black exhaust heat shield installed.
3. Rush Black slip on mufflers installed.
4. Black rear axle nut covers installed.
5. Black swingarm pivot covers installed.
6. Skull gas cap painted wrinkle flat black.
7. Skull air cleaner insert painted wrinkle flat black.
8. 8" fork bag installed for small misc. items.
9. Waiting on Black front axle nut covers.
Future Mods over winter:
1. 1200 conversion kit
2. Sportster Tach Kit.
3. Forward controls (maybe--I'm actually liking the mid controls)
I have had the bike for about 3 weeks now, and love it. I did have a silver FXD that I chromed out. This Iron rides about the same as far as being smooth. It obviously does not have the power my Dyna had, but I feel the Iron is much more nimble and easy to ride. I am also getting a lot more attention with the Iron then the Dyna ever did. And for $8,000, you can not beat the price and look of this bike.

Squeeker, contact MREED on these forums. Just do a search for his name and he should pop up. He is the creator of these brackets and does a nice job too! I just got mine today from him. I know he's been a bit busy with his day job, so maybe give him some time. But he'll hook you up!

I just picked up my 2010 yesterday and of course I already took off the fender, reflectors, etc... I just couldn't leave it alone...LOL!!!
I've always had sport bikes and this is my first (key word first) HD and I'm stoked about it. Can't wait to really make it my own.

2009Iron-
That gas cap looks sweeeeeeeeeeet man!
On another note, you said you downgraded from a Dyna...I'm actually surprised to see that. If you're wanting more power, find a shop that specializes in head porting and such. You'll get more power/speed for around the same amount of money that you're going spend on the 1200 kit. That's what I am going to do.
Here is one shop down the road from me who I plan on having them do a package deal up for me hopefully this winter.

Thanks,,,Yea, it's not really about the power or speed, but more about what I can do with my new toy. A man needs his hobbies....LOL...

I recently bought an 09 Iron and have been trying to decide about pipes. If the V&E Black Short Shots are put on do I need to install their FuelPak? And what is the difference in the FuelPak and Race Pack? Also, is it necessary to put the SE air filter kit on it too? As you can tell I not up to speed on Harleys. The dealer said I would mess up the fuel stoichiometry with the Short Shots and should buy their slip ons.
TIA for your suggestions.

BTW the short shots are a bit played out (they look great however). My next exhaust setup will be some bub lakesters 2 into 2 in black or the rb racing lsr 2 into 1.

Wow, i'm so glad i stumbled upon this thread. I bought my 2009 Iron in the first week of June and as of right now I have 5,100 miles on it. I have the Vance & Hines black short shot exhaust, black Screamin' Eagle Heavy Breather, green LEDs lining the bottom of the tank, and an aftermarket seat. I just ordered a 26 inch black powder coated broomstick handlebar. If you guys would like to see pictures, then just ask and I will post them asap. Also, you can check out the pictures at www.groundedcustoms.com which is the car/motorcycle club I am in.
