So I am attempting to install forwards on mine. Directions say to remove the exhaust. I have the hooker rebels and have removed the bottom pipe. The problem seems to be the bracket that both the pipes bolt to. From what I can tell the bracket is part of the tranny. How do I get at the torx bolt that attaches the brake rod?

And do I need to get new gasksts for the pipes or can i just reuse the old ones?

hey beaner, not sure what that exhaust looks like or how it mounts but chances are you might have to remove that bracket. You will have to pull the cover plate off exposing where your belt goes in. Depending on the bracket its 3 or 4 bolts holding it on. Good luck!

I've had my Iron since Memorial Day weekend, and I have already put 1200 miles on that bad boy. The only changes I've made (so far) are the black HD mini apes, Diamond Black grips, and the Diamond Black braided steel cables. Oh, and my 11 year old son got me the matching Diamond Black shifter peg. I gotta tell you, I absolutely LOVE the new bars. Drags just aren't that comfortable for me.

beaner, drop me a line at n1philli@hotmail.com if you have any other problems or are still having problems. Some pics would help as well. They aren't difficult to put on.

I called up Hooker and the bracket in the way is on of theirs. I just have to take off the front sprocket cover to get the bracket off. No biggee. Should have it buttoned up by tonight.

PS the black you were right.

Default iron 883

hi, new to the forums. just wanted to share some info, and pics of my iron 883. since i bought the bike back in the end of april, i'v made only a few modifications. i started off right away by installing vance and hines straight shots mufflers, highway pegs, and passenger pegs. then i did a couple of willie g accessories, including derby cover, intake insert, and the gas cap. my most recent changes to the bike were hd drag bars with nostalgic grips, blacked out front turn signal lenses, and a brand new nightster seat which i purchased right from harley (also have a badlander seat for the few times i ride a passenger). i also, flipped the mirrors upside down. i'm really very happy with the bike.
