**How Many Iron 883 Owners Out There?**

Pipes
I am looking at adding new pipes to my Iron. Has anyone ever seen or, more importantly HEARD, any pipes made by Viper? They have a set similar to the V & H Side Shots, but I'm leery of buying them and they be junk. Also, what kind of torque loss am I looking at by taking the baffles out or replacing the stock pipes with slip-ons or new pipes. Will the slip-ons still sound mean as hell, or do you NEED new pipe set-ups?

Viper Exhaust = LOUD
I just put the Radii Viper 2" exhaust on my Iron and it turned my bike from sounding like a sewing machine to LOUD and TUFF! Ha...I was super shocked how loud and low the pipes are. I bought the chrome ones from Frantic and installed torque cones to make up for the loss on back pressure. I painted them flat black and put black heat wrap on them. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow and post. I'll also try to post some video of before and after. I love the way they look and I still can't get over how loud they are.

So, with the torque cones, you didn't have to remap the engine? Did you lose any torque or power? That's the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on a new set. I need to know how much of a difference the new pipes will make on sound, power, and torque but without the $$ for remapping. IF that's even an option.

I haven't done anything at all cause I hate giving Harley money. I put the new pipes on and started riding. I added the torque cones to make up for loss of back pressure due to no baffles. I noticed a little loss of power on the low end but it doesn't bother me for the time being. I still think its quick. If you don't want your bike to be loud DO NOT put these pipes on. I still can't believe how loud and low and mean they sound! I will eventually look at adding a heavy breather and or mapping it, tuning it. We will see...
I got my Vipers for $250 brand new - the torque cones were $30 for the pair. I sprayed them black and used heat wrap. They look good. I just like the fact that they are 2 inch pipes and not the inch and a quarter or inch and three quarter that the V&H's are. Plus you don't see everyone and their brother with these pipes!
