Thanks, those are actually aluminum. Got them from DK Customs, I like them because they can be set to free spin or stationary. I like them spinning.

I waited a month and a half for mine back in september 2012 here in Canada. They're hot bikes and they sell FAST. That's a good thing for resale though!

How would you rate the bike? I'd like to know your review of the bike being a owner would be really helpful, I was confused between Iron 883 and 48 for the longest time (I jus couldn't get the 48 outta my head) but the ride was too harsh. Iron was a pleasure to ride. But how about long term use of the bike? How has the bike made you feel living with it?

I've never owned a 48 so i can't tell but i would assume both would be similar in terms of ride quality since both pretty much have the same suspension set up.

The Iron 883 is a fun bike, no doubt about it. Get a good stage 1 and you're good to go. Power is ok, enough most of the time but you'll feel it's lacking "guts" at higher speed. Do not listen to the big twins owners! They will tell you your 883 is SLOW but the fact is that the Iron's short gearing will give them a run for their money in the 0-120km/h zone !!! The handling is surprisinly good.

Of course if you can afford the 1200, go for it, my friend have a 48 and he literally blows me like i was standing there...

I would suggest a good seat and changing the suspension (front and back) for HIGH QUALITY shocks. It will change the bike day and night. The stock suspension sucks. There's not even 1" of travel in the back.

I'm riding more and more with a passenger, so i'm actually thinking about trading for a dyna streetbob/lowrider.

Hope you will be satisfied with your choice.

You're bang on about the handling and power from the Iron, I felt the same way about Handling and Power delivery during the Test ride.
I actually wanted to know about if this bike is reliable over the long run, u know things like starting it up one day to find that the bike is showing some problems which weren't there when u parked her after a ride a couple of days earlier. Though things like these are bound to come up sometime or the other but a bike that constantly comes up with problems would be a pain.
What should I expect when I'm keepin her for a long time..?

The sportsters 883 and 1200 are very reliable motorcycles. I've had no problems so far with my 2013. (10,000km) They are tough bikes!

Just added a Mustang Fastback seat to my '14. Changed the bike for me, I sit a couple inches further back and much more comfortable than the stocker.
