Here's a shot of my bike from last week's 1,000-mile trek from Tupelo to Asheville and back. This was along the Cherohala Skyway.

2013 Iron 883 "Candy Orange". Its my first Harley. I really like the bike so far. Debating taller bars but I really like the mids and am not sure how that will work out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Depends on how tall you are,@ 6feet 10 inch apes or Z bars are about as good as it gets, comfortable and makes the bike appear larger. I found taller apes made my shoulder blades ache if you are in the 5'10" range you might want to leave the bike as is or install maybe a 2" riser. I am 6'1" and almost always use the mids as its more to my liking, its got high way pegs but used only once.

'Might as well add mine to the mix...'09 Brilliant Silver Denim Iron with KW slip-ons, K&N intake, PV tuner, leather fork and swingarm bag.

Simple, and paid for. 'Couldn't be happier with it.

Thanks! At first, the black demin color was my choice, but after a while, noticing how that color had become so "mid/late 70's black Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with t-tops gold wheels and gold firebird on the hood" I decided that instead of being like the rest of the sheeple, I'd look into something else. I noticed with the black denim color there was hardly any color separation between the major components of the bike, except for the exhaust and the top of the forks.

I of course checked out the other available colors...the dark blue, the new red/orange, and even the chrome yellow, but when it came down to a decision I chose the silver, because I thought it offered a rather "muted" yet visible color separation of components, which I thought complimented the minimalistic chrome articles such as the exhaust and upper forks...I think also that the silver makes the bike look lower [yeah, probably only in my head].

I'm still glad I made the silver choice! I always get compliments wherever I go, and I continue to be a happy camper!

Default A little bit different iron

Well finally took the plunge and joined the iron family. Have been through this thread from first post to last over the last 7-10 days.... Excellent information for the most part. Thank you to all the contributors. Figured I'd put mine up here.
