After taking the MSF course and getting my license 3 years ago I finally purchased my first bike today.
Between having a kid and saving my *** off to pay cash for one the wait has been worth it.
2012 with 1440 miles

Now just need Wyoming to warm on up.

Did you have to retro fit any cables, brake lines... to fit on the new handlebars?
I got the BS story from my dealer that I would have to...

Nope, not at all. But keep in mind it's easier to go to drag bars since they're lower than stock, but if you go higher than stock you might have to get a new brake line.

i got my brand new iron on thursday and laid it down friday. *** hat cut off traffic on a two lane backroad and everyone slammed the breaks and i happened to be on a wet patch. bike only needs less than $200 to be back to new but i fractured my wrist so i hav yet another wait to ride. been riding for years but my first harley.

Bummer. Out of all the bikes I've ridden and owned my iron feels the most sketchy when the roads are wet. Probably because the tires are so narrow

heres mine, got it 3 weeks ago brand new, now has 900 miles
I love tinkering with it when i get off work, I spent maybe 30 bucks max on it. And that was mostly tools
-speedo relo / chopped stock speedo bracket
-homemade coil relo
-homemade signo relo /smoked
-ignition relo
-deflectored it (is that a word)
-drilled baffles
-homemade vert plate bracket in process
-flipped mirrors
-wiretuck
-rotated the bars up a bit. ghetto super mini apes bahahaha
ITS THE LITTLE THINGS THAT COUNTS

future mods (next month or so)
-forward controls
-z bars (8"-12") contemplating.....
-dump the bish. with something like dk shock lowering kit OR hardtail
-lower the front fender. STUPID SUSPENSION DOESNT EVEN WORK ANYWAYS
