And also, stealership is asking roughly $750 w/labor to switch my handlebars to some 10" Z bars from licks. That normal or Im def. getting ripped? Sorry for the newb questions. My 3rd bike. First HARLEY. Won't own anything else from now on!!!
z-bars(internal wiring): I asked about installing mine as well and they quoted about 8 hours at 85$ per for a total of 680$ so that seems reasonable; however, i went home and did them myself after hearing that price. It did ake me almost 8 hours to complete but most of it was due to small mistakes/not having the right tools and the fact that it was raining since i don't have a garage to work in.

I suggest you save the cash and do it your self there are plenty of forums that show how do do it and i would be more than happy to send you some tips and the process i followed.

The primary seat is one from HD:

54074-10 Spring Seat Installation Kit $229.95

Then i was searching eBay for an unrelated part and came across this one that matches perfectly:

H-D Sportster Pillion To Match Spring Solo 54373-10 $175.00 made by http://www.sterlingsca.com/default.asp

Hey thanks Mortamous! When I get to that mod, I'll let you know if I need some tips. First on the list is the shortshots. Im sure theyre pretty simple to install. Pretty much bolt on and off. Anything specific I would need to change or do? Like new exhaust gaskets?

The short shots are an easy install. Everything will fit just as it should. New exhaust gaskets are a good idea when installing them.
