Chain inspection cover
In '09 both the chain insp. cover and the derby cover came in matching black to the rest of the engine. In 2010 they went with sivler. Not sure why they changed it. Probably cut costs.
Other cosmetic differences I noticed were:
'09 rear sprocket completely black, 2010 has some silver
'09 headlight eyebrow was gloss black 2010 flat black (including nighster??? Dont know why as the gloss fits the nightster better.)
'09 the air cleaner 883 badge is dark gray, 2010 it's a different color I think.
I think there may have been a couple more very minor differences but cant remember.

Hello,
I'm new to the forum and also the proud owner of a new Iron. I picked it up 2 weeks ago the day before I left on vacation.
I finally had a chance to ride this morning and I must say it was a lot of fun. After a couple of trips down the road, I flipped the mirrors. I couldn't use them as stock without really tucking in my shoulders and arms and leaning over. But thanks to following this thread, I already knew what had to be done, and it only took a couple of minutes to change.
Next week, my Iron is scheduled to have the V&H shortshots, stage 1 air cleaner and fuel remap. I can't wait hear how it sounds after the mods.
It has been over 20 years since I rode. I took the MSF course this last spring and bought a new 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 ltd to start on. But I fell in love with the Iron and now I have one along with the Vulcan. I actually found the Iron easier to maneuver around and ride over the Vulcan. But to be honest, in the beginning I had bought into the Sportster being too big for a starter bike. But the Vulcan did give me the confidence to move up, so all was not lost. I believe both are great bikes and I can't wait to ride some more.

Fuelpak + O2 Sensors
I have a 2010 Iron 883. I came across some pipes that are straight no mufflers, no baffles just straight. I bought a Fuelpak so i could install these pipes and im just waiting for it to get here. The only issue is that the pipes are for an older carbuerated sportster so there are no O2 sensor holes. With the fuelpak can u run without O2 sensors or will i have to have some O2 holes bunged into the pipes?

Oh man... that's so fundamentally wrong.
