Default Bobbed rear fender

Okay I havent posted that much and have just been lurking planning on how I want my iron to look. The one mod that I want is to "bobb" the rear fender sort of like "Gily" has in his most recent post. I dont see alot of these being done, is it just me? am I looking in the wrong place missing something? Can anyone/everyone that has done or know how to do this reply with pics and instructions/methods, etc., I dont have a garage or shop with all the tools necessary so I want to get an idea of what it takes to do this. Thanks

ok well, i went to HD Westminster this Sat. to check out the bike and the sales lady told me they just sold the one they had in stock. she checked and told me the next one is coming in end of next month. so im expecting a call from her so we can talk.

now, im just wondering how did you guys go about negotiating? what are some things you asked for? i really do want this bike (have for the past year) but im willing to wait longer/look elsewhere for a better deal. the first time i talked to her she gave me a quote of $9750.12. so just looking for some advice to either lower the price or at least get some things thrown in. thanks.

Default Speedo Relocation and Top Clamp Mod

Just finished the speedo relocation and modified the stock top clamp that house the idiot lights...it sure beats paying an arm and a leg for the fishboy clamp or the joker speedo bracket for over $200....I think it came out pretty good.

Northwoods,

That's pretty much what I did however it takes patience to get it right. These were my steps.

1) Removed Speedo and had the top clamp cut at a machine shop on a band saw ($10)...make sure to leave as much meat on the clamp as possible around where the indicator lights get inserted.

2) Used epoxy to fill in the holes that exist after the clamp is cut

3) Filed down the epoxy and smoothed out the top clamp. (Epoxy $5)

4) Primered and painted the clamp with black texture paint. ( $6 )(Approx 10 coats)

5) Used an inch and a half flange to extend the aftermarket tach clamp to the tank bolt. ($ .50)

Tach clamp ($17)

So for around $40 it can be done right. Or you can pay 5 times as much for the joker housing and still have to buy at least a plain black top handlebar clamp...

Hope this helps

Nick
