Default Question about 1200 conversion

So I'm trying to get a better understanding here about how this works. I went to the NRHS website and it seemed like there were 3 or 4 different options, and I was unclear if they included labor or not. Some talked about boring out engine, some didn't and some swapped stuff out completely. They ranged in price from $500 - $1300. The dealership wants $1800 for the conversion. I understand other companies offer some type of conversion as well. Can anyone give me an abbreviated overview of this and what I should look for?

I've heard some really bad things about the NHRA conversion.

This is a pretty good article.

I've also been referred to this company for good advice. I haven't talked to them, but according to my source (a hdforums member) they will help you out, even if you don't buy their pricey parts.
