Default Nightser-Iron price question

I have a friend in FL. who is a potential first time Harley buyer. He recently saw a 883 Sporty that was all blacked out and wondered what kind of deal he could expect from the dealer. I don't know if it was a Nightser or the new Iron model. Also, what kind of money would he be looking at if he got a blacked out model in 1200?
Thanks,
Marsh

My salesman told me that an Iron 883 with a 1200 conversion is still a better value than a regular Nightster 1200.

Your buddy might want to check that option out.

I'd guess Iron or Nightster he'd be able to deal a little as well. These dealers want to increase sales and even though we're entering into the riding season, there's room to negotiate. I'd drive a hard bargain if I were him...especially if he can easily get financing or plans on paying in full....

These prices you give sound like MSRP. Just wondering if anyone on this forum had bought one for much less.

I've seen people buying nightsters for about $10,500 OTD. I'm in the market for an Iron and have gotten three quotes for OTD prices. One was $8500 and a discount on parts, one was $9250, and one was over $9700. I'm trying to get the second dealer to give me a better quote but if they can't I'll be going with dealer number 1. Obviously I'd have to be drunk and stupid to go with number 3. Too bad because I really thought number 3 would be competative based on past experiences. If you can get a 1200 kit done for around 1k then it's still a better deal than a nightster. My plan is to do about #1,500 worth of extras and in a couple years do a 1200 kit.

$10,300 OTD on my Nightster. I've seen the Irons and I like them, but I don't have any regrets at all. Never really priced one so I can't help you out much there. Either way you go prepare to open your wallet. Once you put one new part on it's like an addiction. That reminds me, I've got to stop by the local stealer and see about getting a SE Heavy Breather...

Where in Fl is your friend? Jim's HD in St Pete has some. I saw them today at lunch and remember thinking that the prices were reasonable. Don't remember what though. Phone call doesn't cost much.
