Man I love the sound out of those stock pipes, sounds like a Harley. See this is what pisses me off, the MOCO knows exactly what is associated with their bikes but insist on leading the quiet pipes movement. They know damn good and well that people are disappointed with the sound of a stock bike. Screw whoever allows those pipes to remain on the bikes.

My bet is the sound for the video was Doctored. I beg to differ with you on the MOCO leading the way with quiet pipes, it's the Government, EPA to be exact. They have set standards that all MOCO's have to live by. Lets not forget, lots of locals are inacting laws that outlaw loud exhausts, my hometown is one of the latest, all brought on by loud pipes.

 

Cool commercial and the only HD commercial I have ever seen where they were all wearing a helmet...

 

Harley has been credited in a few articles I have read on leading the way with quiet pipes. I know that the EPA puts restrictions on them and that is fine. Then make the baffles so easy to take out that they practically fall off. You don't have to go through the trouble of welding them on. Not only are they quiet but they suck for performance. Jap bikes come with good( not great) pipes straight from the factory. What aggravates the hell out of me is that the MOCO KNOWS!!!!! what their bikes are supposed to sound like, they even put a canned sound in their commercial.
When I went to buy my Harley I knew almost nothing about them. When I ask the salesman to start the bike I was stunned at how it sounded. It was honestly embarrassing. Riding that thing around with stockers was terrible. Everyone that wanted to see my bike was disappointed when they heard it. It hurt my owners experience. I am not saying that they need to be drag pipes but extremely loud is not what the classic Harley sound is anyway.
Another point anybody ever heard a new Vette at high revs? Sounds awesome. At lower revs it sounds mean but it is not loud. And it's EPA legal. Why not Harley?

didn't know you where a member of OCB's, i would like to be, pritty sure i would get torn a new one if i tried, they don't seem to like "my style bikes" ok thats besides the point i have a question...

and please don't take it the wrong way... if you hate the MOCO so much why are you ridding HD? just doesn't make sence to me, i mean, yeah its about $$ to them, they are a business, and yes it gets anoying paying out the **** for a stupid part when it NEEDS to be a harley part but i could change that if i wanted too, i would buy a japper,

 

im just a forum member not an actual QCB, but i feel like the moco has tried to sell out an image, not a bike. i love my harley i just think the executives are a bunch of dbags. they went from the all leather tough guy look to this now. just sayin...

 

deffinelty makes sense to me, when the "hells angle" image doesn't work anymore find the next fad to leech off of right? thanks for clearing it up
