i'd like to raise my tank an inch or 2 , but i have to relocate my speedo.
i have a 99 sportster custom, so i think i'll have to unbolt 6 or so small hex nuts to take off the neck back plate to remove the cable/light wires when removing the speedo from the top of the riser/neck

where should i place the speedo and how?

where is up to you.......rocker box, coil, tank. you can mount it wherever you want just get the auto meter clamp (not sure of the part #). do a search on the forum for speedo relocation and you'll find it. good luck and post some pics.
