Working out with your bike!
Thanks to my bike I worked out this weekend. Well I took the bike out for a quick ride just so I can go to the store. I made a couple stops at different places. On my last stop my bike wouldn't turn on anymore, the battery died on me. I don't have a pick up truck so I had to push my bike home about 2-3 miles away. The weight of the bike helped me work my upper body and the walk and the weight of the bike worked out my lower body. I was drained by the time I got the bike home, I'm still a bit sore. I guess I don't need a bowflex just push my bike around the neighborhood. Seriously I do need a new battery my old battery is stock and my bike is an 04 XLC, is there a certain brand of battery anyone can recommend or should I just go to a dealership and get one there?

I have successfully push-started EFI cars, so I'd think there was at least a chance for the bike. Usually the starter is the biggest drain which tends to mean that even if the starter can't crank over the battery still has enough juice to run the EFI computer.

You should be able to pop the clutch and start it.. but be careful.. if you can be on the bike when you do it..that would be the best thing.. you don't want it to get away from you.. best thing would be to be on the bike and do it on a little of a incline that way you can kinda ease down it pop the clutch and go..
but you will probibly need to be going about 5mph maybe less..

Yeah, it's Monday Mornin' Quarterbackin' but I have to say push startin' the bike beats the snot out of pushing the bike.
About the battery - can't say without more information.
It could be a fluke and all it needs is a top off charge, the battery could be toast, or it could be something wrong in the charging system.
Are you running any electrical accessories that draw enough to cause the battery to deplete? Did you leave the electric vest plugged in and turned on or something?
Did you ride enough between stops to get the battery recharged?
