Lady if you just retired then you are old enough and wise enough to not give a rip what some salesman thinks about anything. I am just retired myself and have probably ridden at least one of most bikes you can name and I ride a Sportster because that is what I want to ride right now. Next year it might be something else. Maybe not, who knows? It's just a bike.

The Harley Sportster was good enougth for Sonny Barger. I don't think he got any crap from Hell's Angels as they followed him down the road.

Yeah, I don't get this. What can those bikes do that mine can't? I actually went to the stealership the other day to see about getting an SE Heavy Breather and I strolled by all the bikes they had set up. You know the only bike there that gave me the same feeling as my Nightster just before I bought it was the Iron. Another sporty. The other bikes just don't appeal to me and if it wasn't for the Nightster, I wouldn't own a Harley right now. I think that speaks for itself.

I wanted to add, I was 100% completely set on buying a Buell Lightning a year before I bought this. I had no intentions of buying a Harley, but there you have it.

Not all debt is bad. When I bought my 07 FLHTC, Harley had .9% financing. I wasn't about to take money out of a savings account with that interest rate. Now in the market for a XR1200 and looks like I'll be paying cash.

I'm a very new rider w/ only about a year under the belt and have a nightster and love it. I'm only about 5'8 and 140lbs. so a sporty fits me perfect; but even if i were bigger in stature, I think I would still rather have a Sporty. There just so quick and nimble. I love it. F*** the stealership!

Just do what I do. Ride the hell outta the bike. Then when you occasionally get those foolish comments....Ask them how many miles they rode last year.

If you can honestly tell them that you rode your Sporty 15,000 - 20,000 miles...

THEY WILL QUICKLY SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
