Default Changed to Synthetic Oil

This winter my bike was at the dealer for winter storage and one of the things they do is change the oil. I had the option of regular HD oil or HD's synthetic oil and I went with the synthetic. I definately notice a big difference with the synthetic oil. The engine runs smoother and quieter (internal), and the tranny shifts smoother and also quieter. The bike just performs better. The bike only had 1,972 miles on it so it could aslo be that it is finally all broken in. Has anyone else experiecned this with thier bike?

I picked up a like new, low mileage 2005 1200C about three weeks ago, and after putting a few hundred miles on it all the fluids were changed out.

Not sure what they were using before, but I put Amsoil 20W-50 MCF in the engine and primary/tranny, and the difference was noticeable.

I've used both synthetic Amsoil MCF and Mobil 1 V-Twin in bikes for many years, and they are both excellent products. I don't have very much experience with HD synthetic fluids, but I would imagine they are good products as well.

Yes, I put in the SE Synthetic on the last change and it was immediately noticeable how much quieter the engine ran. (my bike has done over 14,000 miles)

That's what my dealer told me also, that syn wasn't necessary, as long as i changed my oil at the 2500 mile mark. I think I'm changing my own at the 2500 mark and switching to Mobil 1.

I've used the Mobil 1 20W-50 V-Twin in my Harley's for many years, and just recently started using Amsoil 20W-50 MCF as well.

Don't want to get into one of the endless "oil debates" (where 10 people will give you 15 different opinions), but Mobil 1 and Amsoil are both very good products.

Most people notice a slightly smoother running engine when running synthetic's, and I've found that the air cooled V-Twin's will also run cooler in the dreaded summer months. That's important to me in my location, where temperatures can run well over 100 degrees. I also like the fact that synthetic's won't break down as quickly as the dino oil.

But then again, it you change your oil and filter every 2,500 to 3,000 miles you should be able to use about anything without a worry. Even so, I change oil frequently, and the few extra dollars I spend for a good synthetic oil is a good investment in my mind.

I changed to amsoil while winterizing my bike and it runs real nice this season. Of course, I was driviing a Honda civic the entire winter so after 6 months of that I figure anything will run real nice. Considering you're going from a vehicle that does 0-60 in 10 sec. vs. one that does 0-60 in 4.5 sec.

the amsoil and mobil 1 are good but the amsoil is the better one because mobil 1 is using a dino blend now where amsoil is all synthetic and get this screaming eagle is actually mobil 1 i allways thought it was chevron or spectro but i could be wrong (i heard it from another site)when my warranty is up i,m switching to amsoil 20-50w (i have to i sell it)
