yes its a 2005 Sportster 1200 Roadster 67xx miles and the carb was on it when i got it... its got a screaming eagle cover on it and the dealer i bought it from said it was a full screaming eagle carb. idk if its a mikuni or not
Im riding it and i pull in the clutch and it dies... and it wont start back up cause its flooded... and its not cause im twisting the throttle to try to get it started... it normally starts with just a crack of the throttle... i dont have to rip on the throttle to get it started.
I think it might be cause the person that road it back to san antonio for me put 87 in the tank instead of 91+ like its supposed to be... could this cause the problem?

the lower octane would make it run rough, pinging, etc. it's more than likely a kiehn carb, do you smell alot of gas when you're trying to crank it again? you mention "flooded", so you should smell alot of gas if thats the case. it could be a stuck float, but check your fuel lines, petcock, etc to make sure everything is working like it should. you might have some stuff on your fuel filter too. has the bike been sitting around along time before you bought it? have you contacted your dealer to see what they have to say, if you just bought it? good luck and let us know what you come up with.

yes i do smell alot of gas when i try to crank it agian. and yeah it could be a
stuck float now that i think about it cause that wouldnt affect it at much at high speeds.... delearship didnt want to help me over the phone... wanted me to bring it in.
i think im going to go buy some octane booster and some 93 and put it in the tank and let it idle for a little bit and see if that fixes it.... it could just be a bad batch of gas

The 87 octane has nothing to do with the issue of it not runninig. At most, the 87 octane will just cause some pinging. I'm also thinking that the dealer was refering to the fact that the bike has the SE intake. Check the petcock to see if you turned it back to ON.....Heck, I've gotten down the road a time or two & all of a sudden the scoot shuts down because I forgot to turn the petcock back on (after filling up with gas or grabbing a bite to eat), or a buddy was F'n around with me & turned it off while I wasn't looking, (BS'n in a parking lot), and the bike dies after the fuel in the line is spent.
Or if the bikes been sitting for a while (several months with no activity like on a dealership's floor), something probably got gummed up & then worked loose to clog the carb.
