I will be putting the HD 54754-09 lowering kit on the wifes 2008 1200L,

I also want to add a seat that will be lower and narrower. I see HD has a low profile seat 51538-04. It fits 04 - 06.

Does anyone know if this seat will fit the 08 1200L?

Other seat suggestions would be appreciated also.

 

'04-'06 won't fit an '08. In 2004 Harley changed the frame...in 2007 they added fuel injection, and the module is planted under the seat. the seat requires a cutout for the FI module.

The Reach seat has a narrower profile, and is MUCH more comfy than stock, but it's about the same height. It pushes the rider a little further up, but not much. I have the Reach and like it. I've put around 15k miles on it.

I've heard good things from C & C seats...such as they are actually lower than stock and more comfortable. I think they are narrower at the nose also, but can't vouch for that since I haven't actually seen one on a Sporty. I have seen them on Softails however and they looked low and narrow to me.
