steering fall away
The front fork on my bike seems like it doesn't have much resistance while pivoting. On the ground, the front will stay straight if you fuss with it a bit but usually falls to the left (while on jiffy stand). WHile its on the jack, the fork won't stay straight for more than 10-15 seconds without falling one way or the other.
I put over 9,000 miles on it this past season and never had any handling issues and it will do "no-handers" without a problem. At the 10,000 mile inspection i torqued the steering stem bolt in accordance with the service manual and it still does this. There is no play in the bearings when lifting on bottom of the fork tubes. (bike has 10, 700 miles on it)
I read some earlier posts using the search function and it sounds like this is not much of an issue unless there is a definate handling problem. How is everyone elses fall away? I might just be over thinking this.....
