Although don't have a newer sporty that qualifies for the MSRP deal will keep this one forever still my first love .. As a couple others stated will probably pass down to my son or daughter as they both ride..
My nine year old son already shows all his friends " his bike" to steal a quote from gun owners They will pry my cold dead hand from around her throttle
Mine doesn't qualify as it's an'00, and I wouldn't do it anyway. I almost got a divorce over getting this bike back then.....Well, the divorce did finally happen, and I still have this scoot. I will add a SG or RK or EG, or all three, but I will never get rid of this bike. Also, my daughter has already staked claim to it, and she's only 7.
I plan on getting rid of mine next year, i bought an 09 nightster about a month ago because it was my first Harley and was so cheap. Want to trade up for a Rocker C.
I just got another one after having BT's for the last 20 years.Gonna keep the Train but I suspect I'll ride the Sportster more.
I too have a similar story. I did the upgrade and traded my BT for my sporty last year. I rode sporty's years ago and had a lot of fun on them. It simply is a damn fun bike to ride.
Now the deal that is going on is a good deal for those who choose to do it. But when you factor in mods and upgrades again it becomes questionable in my opinion. The salesman who sold me my bike is a friend of mine and always asks me about doing it. Since I own mine, I just haven't found enough reasons to justify doing it. I really dig my little hot rod.
