No way, I've always loved the looks of the XL883R and when HD discontinued the bike I knew I better buy one. It's an addition to my other two bikes but the one I love to ride around town the most. To each its own but I'm keeping mine.
Not I. I went to the dealer today to get some grips and my salesman friend says "you know about the deal?" He just sold me the bike like 5 or 6 months ago. I quickly said "I aint doin it!" I like the bike. Don't have the money, but I wouldn't do it if I did.
I guess I will be the one to break the trend. I bought my bike, saved and paid for it in cash, because it was what I could afford at the time. But, if I had a newer one, which applied to the deal, and I could afford it(which I can't), I would be getting a nightrain.
I bought my 1200C in April of 08. Though I really love the Sportster, I am considering the trade myself. All depends on whether the dealer can get me the bike I want and the deal I want. They are currently looking for a black Heritage for me and once they have it, we will see if we can finalize the deal. The wife rides with me alot now, so we can use the extra capacity. Besides, when will I ever get $10K for my bike with almost 13K miles on it.
I can always buy a used Sportster in a year or two. I really would like a black XL50 or a peanut tank Roadster. I was actually looking into putting a Nightster tank and fenders on the 1200C.
Not gonna get rid of mine. Someday a Street Glide will have a place in the garage, but it will be next to the Sportster. Can't really see starting over at square one for a big twin (i.e. stage one stuff, chrome pieces, sissy bar, windshield, etc.)
Although don't have a newer sporty that qualifies for the MSRP deal will keep this one forever still my first love .. As a couple others stated will probably pass down to my son or daughter as they both ride..
