You can order them from Harley for the Iron, spray paint them, or have them powder coated wringle black. The jugs will still be gray though.

Is it just a case of removing the Cam & Derby covers by the bolts that are holding them on..... what I mean is when you remove all the holding bolts from both sides & take the covers off.... is there gonna be any problems with what are sitting behind them?

So do you just bolt off, powdercoat & bolt back on?

Maybe there is a link for this information?

I appoligise for my dumbness , I'm English & have only owned Jap bikes in the past.... this is my first HD, I too wanna powdercoat my castings...

Thanks

Its covered in the factory service manual. The primary side is no problem but the cam side you need to be careful about the cams coming out and getting the timing marks out of alignment (usually removing the rocker covers and taking pressure off the rocker springs and push rods makes it easier. Of course many have been successful being careful and just unbolting it and slowly pulling it off. When in doubt or if problems its always best to have the manual handy.

Mine is being blacked out right now. The powder coating in fairly cheap. I think I'm paying around 150 for all the caseings, head covers, etc. My actually cost will be more though since I am having a local shop take off and put back on all the parts.
