i think there's another thread on this. i like it however i think it kinda takes away from the "sporty's image". i think the more rear tire showing the better on a sporty, just my 2 cents.
i've seen it done before, but if your boing to put the back fender on i really think you need the front fender. it will just look way out of proportion if you don't
not really feelin it dosent flow with the bike. but to each his own if you like it go for it
Peedi,
I was hoping to elevate the conversation beyond " If you like it, go for it" and perhaps hear "Here's why the flow of the bike is interupted" or "That looks like some old-school/hot rod amalgamation"
that fender alone will not work, you need a fatbob tank and somehow get rid of the shocks, and then add the matching front fender... and that is the bare minimum, you still need to change the bars and the front forks and the headlight and the frame is just not made for that style at all.
it will never look quite right. I would buy a used older Evo softail and fix that bike up to look that style. in fact i AM going to do this and im looking for the right bike myself
the rest of the bike is small. The front fender exposes some of the tire. I think it would out of place. But like joe said if you wanted to change out a bunch of parts it would work.

This is my first winter of looking at the bike and wondering what I could do to it so my vision is limited. I like old school. The post WWII Harleys really appeal to me. The original Sporty has a great but different look. The N was the closest thing I could afford new. The Crossbones was too much dough. The chrome shocks mimic the original Sporty (which also has a relatively long rear fender) but may conflict with the blacked out look of the N. I had more money than sense last year So I agree that the front fender would have to match the new rear, I could see beach bars on it too. What about the fork doesn't work to your eye? And the tank...too small?
That's what I'm after opinions from more sophisticated (meaning you already made these mistakes) eyes.
