Hmmm, I'm thinking a fairing like that would work great on the XR. Where did you get it?

It's your bike... So you should do whatever you want/like...

With that said... I think it completely destroys the look

As my dad used to say, it looks a little "whomperjawed". It would be OK if you could level it a little better, but apes and a cafe' fairing really don't go together, asthetically speaking.

my nightster is equipped with drag bars and about to have 2-1 exhaust, so is a little more cafe style...thinking about this fairing but

1. how hard it is to remove and reinstall
2. Would I be able to easily make it fit with a headlight that's about 1" lower than stock?

Tough to tell these things since they don't give us any pictures of the inside or of the mounting parts.

If you're talking about the Ness fairing, it doesn't come with any sort of model specific mounts - you have to adapt/locate them yourself and drill the fairing to fit. For the headlight to fit in the fairing hole, it usually needs to be moved forward, and Ness sells a bracket to do that. Otherwise, the fairing will hit your forks and/or bars before it gets to the headlight.

It's not all that bad looking, but with the bags, 2 up seat and bars it just deos not flow right. No ditch the bags, go back to solo seat and run drag bars and it would look kinda mean.

You ride a road sofa therefore your opinion is invalid. Why so much hate, I like it. Anyway this thread is ancient.
