Default need help! bought an exhaust (vance and hines) and a power commander

hey! im jay and im new to the bike world. i just bought an 09 nightster 3 weeks ago and never ride it yet cause of the weather here in NY. i bought an exhaust (vance and hines) and a power commander a week after i bought the nightster. i went to HD dealership to have an estimate how much they charge to install those on my bike and they were telling me that they dont install PC. they only do fuel pack. i tried returning/exchanging the PC where i bought it and they said its not returnable and exchangeble because its electronic. my question is should i just stick with the PC? and my other question is does my bike have an O2 sensor because if it does, do i have to buy the 02 eliminator?

im hoping anybody could help me. thanks in advance.

Hi Jay, Stick with the PC, and install the exhaust yourself. Its not hard at all. Plus you will get to know your bike. Yes, the bike has O2 sensors, one on each manifold. Depends on how the PC is set up, it can be ran open loop (with out O2 sensors) or closed loop. If you go without O2 sensors, you will need bung plugs. (can buy them from VH). As for the PC, its pretty much plug and play, and you can download pre-made maps from PC.

The PCIII should come with 02 eliminators. Keep the PCIII and put it on yourself. Its a very easy project. At most for a person with no mechinacal experience it would take a couple hours tops

I think you stole my bike! It's in my garage, so I know it's not mine. Same pipe's, went with VH's fuelpack. It runs rich. but runs real well. I can change my fuel pack settings to what ever I like. Hope you can do the same. Good luck................
Keep it in the wind...............

Right on dude. I don't get down to NYC much at all. My buddy and I are planning on making a trip down around kingston area this year though.
