Question for all Sportsters
#21
Thanks for all the advice.
I know the Nightster would get my notice if I seen one on the road, haven't yet all 1200 customs, Super Glides and the huge 2 setters around this area.
I'm a pretty unique guy, I can't own anything stock, so the Nightster gives me that custom feeling right of the lot. Of course after about a week, it would be custom already.
I actually already have plans laid out for this bike and I haven't even learned to fully ride yet, lol.
*Already looking at V&H shorty black outs
*Intake upgrade
*Possible front controls relocation, I have longer legs and think that may help.
Step one, learn to ride.
Step two, get Nightster.
Step three, modify
Step four, enjoy
The more I read the more excited I get.

well sounds like you made up your mind, good luck, wish the nighty was available when i bought mine, just change the seat, i dunno how anyone can ride that thing stock, feels like your sitting on an open five gallon bucket

Rent each one your thinking about and put as many miles as you can.Your body will tell you which one is right for you.Clue: Harley doesn't make a comfortable seat on any bike except for the 2 out of every thousand people that just happen to fit the seats that come on the bike.Unless they are paying your bills I wouldn't give a flying F%*k what anybody says about what I ride.

Before owning my sporty I was a little closed minded on getting one. I wanted a Harley so bad that when I saw mine in the paper for 3,800 I had to go look. I honestly can say that after having mine for 4 years, I don't know if I even want to get a big twin anymore, my next one will more than likely be a sportster sport.

The Deluxe is the only Chic bike HD makes. Unless you have some psychological need to have need to have to biggest bike out there between your legs, you'll enjoy the sportster.
Also, I know a bunch of old bikers who ride them. It's the baggers that are the new "cool" thing to have, for the real bikers.

Open Mind, I traded a 98 fatboy for my 06 883 Custom and a pile of cash so I could buy another toy that the whole family would enjoy. We like to 4 wheel so I got a new Polaris Ranger because noboby else in my family will ride a motorcycle. I must say I liked the Fatboy because it was my first Harley but I enjoy my Sportster much more ! It seems just as quick and a whole lot lighter to handle. Go for it You will love it! Thanks Mark

A real BIKER wil not KNOCK another MAN,S HD. Only ones that seem to talk **** about a Sportster is the ones that don't own a bike and wish they could. And the insecure Flash no cash A HOLE that got a Bike That he really don't own cause he got heavy payments on it. You ride what you like and can afford. I have my 07 883L love that Bike she's my lil bitch fun to ride im 5-11 180 58years old Fun bike for me for around town short rides account im getting old got my 06 1200C like that Bike last year of the carb starts a little harder then the EFI . Spits and farts once in a while got forwards nicer for longer rides. Then theirs my 09 FXD. It's a Sporters on Steroids. Love all my Bikes When the day comes that I can't ride much do to health the 07 883L will stay with me . Just as a reminder of how life use to be.

**** on 'em.
Get the new Iron 883, have the engine upsized to a 1250 from NRHS and leave them amazed at how a "883" walloped their delicate fanny.
The real "bikers" don't give a rat's **** about what you ride.

I'm looking at starting my rider enjoyment with a HD Nightster.
I have concerns.
I was told by an older biker that I may be subject to being made fun of because of choosing a Sportster, as they are typically chic bikes?
I'm a male 5'11 and 180.
Wanted to hear from hard core veteran riders of these bikes to hear their thoughts.
I personally like the Nightster because it fits my style and I would be a first time rider after finishing the classes.
I also like the deal HD is having with the Sportster ride free program.
Opinions please.
Thanks
