Question Spring Grand Canyon Ride!

I just got my bike about two months ago (09 Nightster), and I know this might sound a little daring on my part, but few friends and I are planning to ride to the grand canyon during spring break. I wanted to know from those of you that are more experienced and have done that ride, what advice can you give that will come in handy. Also what's the best route to take. I am from southern Ca. Riverside county and thinking of taking about five days in total. I appreciate the help.

I rode from Scottsdale to the Canyon and back during a visit to Arizona this past October. Not sure what route you plan, but definitely plan on spending extra time to enjoy the pavement - and pavement is plenty as is the scenery. Once you get to altitude and closer to the Canyon, have warm gear handy. My winter riding gear was barely enough in October. Also, watch for oncoming traffic passing into your lane - - scared the hell out of me a few times on some of the mountain passes. Ride safe and enjoy an awesome place to ride.

Default Oak Creek Canyon

Whatever you do you owe it yourself to take 89A northbound out of Prescott, and go thru Jerome, Sedona and most importantly, Oak Creek Canyon. Oak Creek Canyon is one of the best rides in the country. Awesome!!! Have a blast man!!
