Question Registering a FL bike in CA?

I'm looking to buy a used bike that's located in Florida. The bike has V&H pipes on it but I don't think it has the Stage 1 yet. My question is whether or not I'll be able to register the bike here in California? If not, what all would I have to do in order to be able to register the bike here? Any help is well appreciated!

Thanks

Don't you have to get a green sticker in California?

hmmm... dont see why that would be an issue-
without the fuel controller your bike is running lean.
the only issue i see is whether they give you a hard time about the sound level from the pipes.

btw, nice bike!
(mine is an '08 running v&h. also an arlen ness air sucker and i did put on a fuel management system- i was getting stalls when i hit it hard cause of the over-lean setting by the factory. now it runs fast and hard like it should- not the best mpg, but thats o.k. with me. i prefer the power).

They may not even need to see the bike. Take all the paperwork down to the DMV (without the bike) and request a California registration. California doesn't have an emissions test program for bikes so that won't be an issue. The green sticker referred to earlier is for off road bikes so that's not an issue either. You can go to the California DMV website and get the correct requirements too.

Yes you do for "Off Road Vehicles" only. For on road vehicles the major thing to look for is that it is 50 state smog legal, if not that is another problem in itself.

Wow..thanks guys. This helps a lot. I think 7/11 may have the best answer for me (I hope). I may drive it back from West Palm Beach in the next couple of weeks. That's about 2650 miles in the winter! I'll also check on shipping it though.

I believe the DMV site stated 7,500 but the way it read it were as if you were a resident and buying the bike or vehicle out of state to bring it into the state like importing.
