Default Comfy seat for a Roadster?

I like to take off on the Sporty and ride back roads at a leasurely pace on an all-day adventure, sometimes packing a tent and sleeping bag for a 2-day adventure. But the stock seat just doesn't provide the comfort for that kind of riding. I've tried the HD Sundowner, but I think it is designed for the lower Sportsters with forward controls. On the Roadster, I'm always sliding forward with the Sundowner.

Anyone using an aftermarket seat on a Roadster that actually works?

Just my .02 worth. My 60+ year old rear feels good on the HD pillowtop seat. Not the prettiest seat in the world, but function overrides beauty at my age. I can ride out a tank and feel OK.

+1 I have their vintage solo. Changed the whole ride, and looks good too.

Are you looking for a solo or 2-up seat?

Two questions:

1) How comfortable do you want the seat?

2) Do you value comfort over aesthetics?

I got a DayLong ( http://www.day-long.com/ ) on my '08 1200R and there's nothing like it. I looked at a whole mess of saddles and this is the only seat that really did it. This company will make the saddle specifically for you and your application - they require a fair amount of information regarding your physical size and photographs and they guarantee their saddles to be comfortable.

I went with this company at the recommendation of people that ride far longer and harder than I do (30,000+ miles per year) and I am completely satisfied with it.

I did the Mustang, Corbin and Saddleman seats on other bikes and this is hands down the most comfortable saddle I've ever used - including fancy saddles on Goldwings.

Take a look, they're worth the time.
