The SEii slip on mufflers were built for harley by Cycle Shack and they do sound great both on acceleration and deceleration. This is why I bought the Cycle Shack full system. Great tone and the chrome has been top notch. Their price was awesome too.

I've had both on my bike and they are pretty similar performance-wise. It depends on what kind of sound you are looking for. The SE's are a significant sound upgrade over stock, your dealer was definitely BS'ing you there, but I personally much prefer the V&H both in sound and looks.

I agree, the Screamin' Eagle slip-ons are significantly louder than stock and have a great sound. I bought mine and am very happy, not too loud, loud enough, got a punch from it in performance, not great but noticed.

Ive been reading about the sound of the V&H's and I think that is what I am looking for, I was wondering if anyone has any idea about horsepower/torque differences between the two though? Thanks, any help is appreciated.
I like the V&H. I think they sound great. By the way I'll cut you a deal on the slip on's and screamin eagle a/c. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/motor...-for-sale.html

Default SE Slip-ons

We put the black Screamin Eagle slip-ons on the wife's '08 Nightster, and they sound pretty nice. To say that they are "barely louder than stock" is not correct, they are a fair bit louder than stock, pretty deep, but not nearly as loud as most aftermarket slip-ons. Just about perfect, and she really loves the sound. And, they are LEGAL for street use.

Now, I have the SEII's on my '07 Softail (had to modify them to make them fit) and they are pretty aggressive. I might be downgrading to the regular SE slip-ons soon, just to keep from running afoul of Johnny Law, and preserve what hearing I have left. I really like the sound, but like I said they are fairly aggressive, and where I live that is getting to be an issue.

Bottom line is that I can recommend the SE slip-ons if you are looking for a nice deep but not too-loud exhaust note.
