My son and I went out for a quick trip to "Duncan Junction" for breakfast. 12 degrees out there. We were gonna ride all the way in to town and eat at the Waffle House but my right eyeball was freezing in the socket and I was having trouble keeping that eye open. And my hands were sort of frozen to the point where it was hard to work the clutch. That's the coldest weather I've ever ridden in. Google maps says 7.2 miles from our house to Duncan Junction.
Kinda gives you a better respect for quality gear designed to deal with the elements doesn't it. Even the Gortex lined leather gloves I use will get cold after about 30 miles when the weather gets down between 10 and 20 degrees. I take 2 pair so one is getting warm while the other is being worn. I have a full body jump suit that is wind proof too but there are still spots around the neck, wrists and ankles where the air can get through. The suit is big enough for me to wear my ride gear underneath it.

Yeah. My gloves are actually HD gortex lined gloves but they only keep my hands comfortable down to about 40 degrees if I ride very far at all. My helmet is admittedly cheap.
24 here in Happy Valley. Regular heat wave after -12 and snow this past weekend. To top it off, I'm surrounded by *&%OO)_& Steelers fans. I'd jump out a window if there was a building in this town higher than three floors...
It's been around 32 to 34 degrees and foggy every morning for the last week or so. I'm still riding to work, but man it is a nice brisk ride to the office. The 20 mile ride really wakes me up though.
Light snow here yesterday. Man, do you REALLY get some long stares when riding in the snow. LOL. Was no (or very little) danger of the snow accumulating on the streets. Just on the grassy areas. It was 28 degrees. Heck of a lot warmer than just a few days earlier. Great day to ride!
