Default Fabrication Experience

I was wondering if any of you had any experience in fabrication. I'm wanting to try my had at making a front finder for my bike and had a couple of questions.

Materials and tools mainly. but anything would helpful

16-20 gauge steel and English wheel to start.

You could use mild or stainless steel, but mild typically is easier to work with, though stainless will provide more corrosion resistance. An english wheel will get you the rough piece, but other tools would be required to finish it out.
