Default Sportster C or Dyna Glide

Contemplating my first bike in too many years (25 or so). Have gone back and forth on the HD vs Victory. Looking like an HD. Now the question? 1200 Custom or Dyna Super Glide? What should I be considering in deciding between the two. Cost difference of $2000 or so is not that big a deal, but is a factor. What else should I consider. Right now the 1200 seems to have the inside track...

Thanks in advance,

Todd

How tall are you? How much do you weigh? Gonna do around town rides most of the time with a couple hundred mile jaunt every now and then? Gonna ride a couple hundred miles every weekend, with a yearly vacation of maybe a couple thousand miles? Will you ride solo with only an occasional passenger? Will you be riding two-up frequently? Which one feels more "balanced" to you?

if you haven't already go to the h-d site, under products there is a section to compare two bikes side by side.

another thing to consider is if you're looking for fuel injection it's only available on the dyna.

Howdy Todd, If you're not sure about which one to get, have you given the rent a ride a shot. Try renting each one for awhile and see which one feels the best to you. Also what was said earlier, what type of riding do you intend to do with it? There are a lot of questions that you will have to answer for yourself, but hopefully this will give you some help.

For me personally, I answered this question based on the fact that I could pay cash in full for the 883C and could not for the Superglide.

I faced this same dilemma in January. 1200C or Super Glide. Like Johny, the cash purchase of the Sporty made my decision for me. The new 1200s almost match the Dyna's in horsepower and torque, but weigh less. My decision to hold a little in reserve after the bike purchase was a good one. The same day I left the deposit at the dealer for the new 1200 my snowblower quit for the last time. (You southern guys know what a snowblower is)? Only a cool $1,000 to replace that.

Either way. Two great bikes. Won't go wrong with either.

Hell yail we know what a snowblower is but I ain't never seen one in person but I seen em on tv. My son just bought a 05 XL1200C his first bike. He use to have a Honda CR80R. I have rode it and it is nice but he will have to replace that seat. It kinda reminds me of the 87 Softail Custom I use to have.

Do you plan on having a passenger on the back very often? I have rode on the back of a sportster and it's not very comfortable IMO.
