mines actually on the tank...
not really a good pic but the tab from the speedo clamp is screwed into one of the screw holes on the plate on the tank

Mine is on the same tab from the tank, there's a lift bracket on there, I just put the speedo bracket on the same bolt. You can see it in the top pic.

I drilled out the hole on the clamp bracket to 5/16" and mounted it to the front tank mount, just remove the nut, install the bracket and replace the nut.

Here's a pic of the mounting..

I never posted pics of mine finished and I meant to. I love my bar clamp. and my front fender is no longer there either.

A little thread hijack here(sorry). Would anyone with a nightster or low that has relocated their speedometer be interested in selling their top clamp with the integrated speedo mount?

yes you can... from about 20mph to 90 or so I think. The only things I really need to see I never pay attention to it anyway. Low, Slow and Loud. The whole reason I came to HD from Jap bikes.

Slackster, what did you do for the backside of you speedo? did you put anything on it to keep it from being exposed?
