Did you have to raise your tank to make room for those wires so you could get rid of the plastic wiring harness cover?

And what bars are those? What length? Can I see a close-up of your Ignition switch relocation? I already relocated my coil in the same place.
The Drag bars are flat black 32" with a 4" pull back. I found them on ebay by searching " black Drag bars " there's a store that keeps on selling them and they have them in gloss or flat(wrinkle)

I did have to get my tank raised for the wire relocation...HOWEVER just the other day I read up in another different sportster forum site where you can have the wires moved without raising the tank.
Also i thought it might look cooler raising the tank a bit.

I guess you would have had to raise the tank to make clearance for your coil too, I tried to mount mine like that and the fuel line hit it. I had to make the bracket go over top to lower the whole coil down. I'll have to see if I still have room for the Ignition switch. You haven't had any problem with the heat near the switch have you?

If I had a CNC or even a milling machine in my garage, I'd be kicking out some stuff too.

That is a Bad A$$ clamp!

got my clamp yesterday from fish and installed it last night. it's really slick and IMO is worth the extra money to have the dummies integrate right into the clamp and it's powdercoated. You did a great job with these fish.

You don't need cash to make a great looking bike.... that's the problem that
gets so many people on the wrong track thinking they can order **** out of a
catalog and build a great "bobber".

You do need some cash to buy some tools. The only tool that you need
that's expensive is a welder. After that a drill press, a bench grinder and an
angle grinder will suffice. That's basically all I had when I built DogBreath.

And you can even do a lot with out a welder if you find a friend that welds.

The great thing about spending your money on tools is that as time goes buy
you can rebuild your bike better without having to throw away a $300 piece
of billet just to change it.... just grab some more angle iron and build.

True dat...just be VERY selective and do some research...then get what you can off ebay/craigslist/swaps and find yourself a good local machinist (preferably one that works for himself) if you ain't got the tools and can't get them right away.

Gazza is right...keep your eyes peeled, you won't believe how cheap you can get quality tools sometimes. I'm gonna start focusing more on that after this build is done. I kinda wish I'd done that first though and saved a bit more money, but we live and learn .

No not at all, And i've seen it's a pretty common area to place it for a relocation.

I was thinking about making my own bars. You can get a 6 foot piece of 1 inch tubing from McMaster-Carr for under $20. I like to try to make my own parts if I can.
