Nope, just unplug, move to new place, and plug back in. You will be good to go.

New to the forum relocated my speedo yesterday thanks to this and other great threads. Thanks for the help guys. Note: Do not over-tighten the autometer black bracket without the rest of the assembly as it will result in the frame bending inwards preventing the assembly from going back together.

Slackster, your scoot is amazing! I have a '97 1200 hugger that I want to look very similar. How far did you raise your tank, what bars did you go with, where did you get your seat and what method did you choose for "bobbing" the rear fender? Once again, beautiful bike! Thanks in advance!

I had to extend my speedo wires 8 inches or so, anybody else?

Thanks for the write-up. I just got my clamp in the mail today.

Question: How come no one has painted the ugly silver clamp?

nc883 - How did it turn out painted? Did you have to scuff it first?

Anyone having problems with vibrations loosening up the clamp over time? I've done other mods that were great at the beginning but over time didn't hold up and had to be re-done a bit.

Thanks all!

I used a scotch brite pad to scuff mine, then painted it with some black engine compartment paint I had laying around. Turned out just fine.
