I completed the install. I was surprised but Home Depot (HD was closed) had the 5/16"-20 thread socket-head screws that were missing from the kit. I also had to buy a tap & die set to chase the threads on the new shift lever. I figured this won't be the last time this problem will show up. I'll have to get used to the bike now, but I like it better. It's got to help on longer rides. It was high 50's in Denver today, the engine needed the exercise so I took her out. Aw Yeah!!
I think I'm gonna hang onto the old parts just in case sometime I need to go back to mid config. Sorry.

Yup, I confess. Won't take long to adjust. . . Just wish I'd used more Loctite, my brother lost his shift-lever while on a 4-lane, the bolt must of worked it's way out. I'll keep an eye on everything.

Closer to spring I'll take it into HD to replace the lower gasket on the rear cylinder. Leaking. . . I'm not diving into that myself. Anyone have any idea what that costs?

+1 on the Locktite. After a chilly ride home from worl last nite I noticed my right forward peg was a little loose. Pretty unnerving. They have loctite now.
