Default Go back to regular Oil

Well guys,

Need your savy advise, my `07 1200C, is running with Synthetic oil, but after reading comparison between reg oil and Sync<in Motorcycle cruiser mag> there is no particualr advantage in the use of Sync other than paid a much more<actually i`m using Mobil 1 V-twin Sync 20w-50>, my question is should I go back to a reg Oil or keep using Sync...
Thanks

I think the biggest advantage of the syn. oil is the lower operating temp. especially in the summer heat. It is also a better lubricant and I get the V-twin Mobil 1 at the local Walmart, in the ATV section. So I'm with the syn. oil.

I don't know what you've been reading, if you don't like cooler running and longer periods between oil changes and less wear on your engine then go back to the dinosaur age.

You don't need to spend the money on the Mobil1 V-twin 20W50. Mobil1 makes an automotive 15W50 that many including myself are running and it is quite a bit cheaper. I run that same oil in my sportbike and dirt toys too.

+1 on that, although they did just raise the price here to $26.00 for the 5 quart jug. Still, that's only $5.20/qt for a top of the line syn.

I made the switch from Mobile 1 v-twin to the 15w-50 automotive also. I did develop an oil leak shortly after that, but that's probably co-incidence. I have to say though, around here, it was about the same price as the v-twin oil.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I was told...Once you start using Synthetic you can't go back to regular oil. Can someone elaborate on this?

No, that's nonsense. In a pinch, you can even mix them if necessary.

Yeah!!! The engine doesn't care in a pinch but it sure will care if something doesn't get put in.
