Default Exstend wires for handlebars

I just installed XL-L bars on my 06 XL-C. Now I need to exstend every thing, cables, brake line, and wires, about 4"-6". I dont need to do the wiring for the turn signals. I know now they make color coded wires to do this. I have never done any soldering of wires befor, looks like I will now. So where is the best place on the bike to add the wires? I was thinking under the gas tank good or bad?
Thanks for any advice...

When I put risers on my bike I pulled the tank off and just rerouted the wiring harness and had enough wire without adding any

If you do need to add additional length, use the appropriate gauge wire, solder and heat-shrink tubing. Squirt a little dielectric grease in the tubing before you shrink it. Stagger your cuts in the wires so you don't have all the splices in one spot (creating a giant "lump" in the harness). Something like this poor representation:
------------------/-------
-------------/------------
---------/----------------
-----/--------------------
While it's all apart, you might consider internal wiring in your handlebars for the handlebar switches. Do a forum search and you might come up with other suggestions on wiring when swapping bars.
Enjoy

Thanks for the advice.

First I will try to re-route, but I've been told in 06 HD shortened the wires. As for internal wiring
I always fill my bars up tight with Insolation, helps to cut down on handlebar vibs. My new bars are dimpled for exterior wiring too. So what I'm thinking is to cut the wires in a staggered pattern under the tank then pull the wires up to where I need them on the new bars then solder in the extended wires under the tank, then shrink rap each wire. I think I got it... Now after all of this, should I make a loom of some kind with large shrink rap or something over the extended wires, or just rap some electric tape around them?
Thanks.
