Question Spring recovery on throttle

been working on my girls bike. Changed the slip ons, new air high flow airbox, rejet the carb, now onto the throttle adjustment. Seems as though the spring does not have a fast or strong enough recovery so it creates a lag in engine response. I hope this makes sense, there must be way to tighten the cable and change the spring. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks Ted

This is probably obvious, but I'll mention it anyway - have you loosened the throttle friction **** below the handlegrip?

Are you trying to say a Sporty is a "girl's bike" LOL! If it's a matter of adjustment vice "leaving the throttle assist engaged", loosen up both cables. Next, remove the AC so you can see the throttle plate on the carb (unless you can see the stop that hits at WOT). Open the throttle to wide open (WOT) and lock the throttle assist (or "manual cruise control" lol) to keep it there. Now adjust the accelerator cable until you see about a 1/16th" gap between the carb cable assembly and the little stop on the throttle plate (you'll see the plate move as you adjust). Release the cruise control and adjust the deceleration cable until you have 1/16th-1/8th" free-play at the grip when you tweak it lightly with your fingers without taking up cable. If properly set, the throttle should lightly tap the stop at WOT and should snap back to fully closed. If not, could be the "cruise control" dragging on the inner grip guide, control housing "pinching" the grip, cables need lubed, or lack of white lithium grease (I prefer Tetra-gun brand so I can lube my gun, too) needs renewed under the throttle grip and handlebar. Hit a little WD on the throttle plate assembly, too, just for measure. Should be GTG. BEFORE STARTING, MAKE SURE THE THROTTLE IS NOT AT WOT!!! Sorry for yelling.
