RE: Brighter Headlight Bulb
Rainy day here so i went ahead and installed my new silverstar bulb. It's middle of the day and even in my bright garage i can see the difference in bulbs. Looking forward to testing it out on the street @ night. Total install time...bout 20 mins.
Thanx for the suggestions on the bulb and how to go about the install.

RE: Brighter Headlight Bulb
From what I've read both here on HDF and on Sylvania's web site, the Silverstars are the way to go. I picked up one at AutoZone tonight for less than $20. I also bought a 5 3/4" Diamond headlamp (0901-0577) from Zanotti for less than $33 (which included an H4 bulb that I intend to keep as a spare). This lamp has no shield over the bulb or anything on the clear lens, and the claim is that it eliminates the dark spot in the middle, plus it is DOT legal. I plan to install everything this weekend, and I have high hopes. I'll keep you posted...

RE: Brighter Headlight Bulb
Silverstars are great. I put one in the wife's '02 1200C...made a big difference. The only down side is they do not last as long as a 'standard' halogen bulb. Their rated life is about 1/2 a standard halogen.... Sylvania is coming out soon with a SilverStar Ultra that will have better life, and supposedly even whiter color....
