Cold Weather Riding = Great!
#41
My bike is parked...We've gotten a couple of inches of snow a couple of times, and of course they panic and throw down a rediculous amount of sand/salt...So I haven't ridden in a few weeks. The cold doesn't bother me, its the gravel/sand/salt everywhere that I don't feel like dealing with. Just got more snow this morning for them to throw sand on, only for it to melt in the next couple of days...

Winter riding is great! The bike really likes the lower humid air and the pipes really can crack if ya wanna in the winter. As for heated grips, I prefer heated gloves. They are around $150 and can be used on more than one bike. I have a pair and love em. I rarely hookup the heated feature of them, they are quite warm without that. But, if I'm going on an interstate ride for more than just a few miles and temps below 35, I'll plug em up. Very toasty.
Hey maskedstranger.....where in North Central TN? We gotta be close. I ride everday, maybe we could ride sometime.,

I don't put my bike in storage - just keep it on a float charger so I can take it out when the mood strikes.
Today, it's 35 degrees in my section of NY. Sunny and crisp but cold. Did about 15 miles on the Nightster this morning tooling around town and getting errands done. Just threw on some thermals, fleece and my full face helmet - Man, it was so beautiful. Not another bike in sight. In some ways, I prefer it to summer riding when you are getting cooked in the sun and sweating your a** off at lights and in traffic. The crispness in the air, just slightly penetrating, felt so damn good.
Plus, I love the looks you get from cages. Either they look at you like you're crazy or like they WISH they were out there riding on their bike.
