Riding with plate folded shut
As most of you know, the stock Nightster license plate holder folds inward.
I folded mine shut a few weeks ago in my garage. I noticed last night that I still had it folded shut, and I've been riding everyday! I can't believe nobody said anything. I guess we really are invisible if I can ride around for almost a month with no plates and not get pulled over. I swear a cop was following me around a few days ago too. I wonder why he didn't say anything?

Just be sure not to visit Florida. The fine for having a folding tag mount is $1,000.00, and that's whether you have the plate folded or not. The same applies to vertical mounted plates.
And no. we don't care if you don't come to FL in protest, we have to many tourists and blue hairs already.

Same issue came up on the Chrysler PT Cruiser a couple years back. They came stock with lightly tinted windows, and those tinted windows were in violation of a state's window tint laws(Virginia I believe) and people were getting pulled over for it. It's a fix-it ticket, and normally you'd just pull the tint. But, this was tinted in the glass, not removeable like aftermarket tint. So, these people were getting tickets they couldn't do anything about. I think eventually that state realized what was going on and stopped ticketing those vehicles.
I don't think states should be able to cite you for something that came stock on a vehicle, be it a car or a bike. What are you gonna do when you buy the vehicle, tell them, "Nope, can't have that option, I'll get a ticket." I don't think so. Dumb on the part of these states.
