I like it,any upgrades in store or is it going to stay a stocker?

I've been lusting after this bike since I saw the first public pics back in Oct/Nov of '06 and I've been keeping in constant touch with my dealer about it. We both knew that it was just a matter of "when" before it was available here. He called me immediately when he got the fax from HD back on the 21st about the pre-sale and we put my order in right then. What's weird is that the XR apparently shipped the following Monday. I did notice that it has an 11/08 build date so it is fresh from the oven.

I must be talking to the wrong dealer. (You know the one in Bedford) They didn't even ask for a deposit and this was Sat. the 28th of Nov. because they didn't if it was coming. May I ask what you got it for?

At some point, I'll probably upgrade the pipes. I'm not that impressed with the sound of the stock pipes but I'm not in any hurry. There are accessories (windshields, bags, etc.) that will be available shortly from HD and I'll definitely need to pick up a tank bag.

 

Even though dealers were notified back on 11/21 that they could begin taking pre-orders, apparently it wasn't "official" until 12/1 but by that time, the bikes were already shipping. The early bird gets the worm (but the 2nd mouse gets the cheese).

I paid about $12.5k OTD. It's a base model - no security and the only "upgrade" is the orange paint. I believe this is the only configuration currently available.
