Default Hey All!! I need some help!!plz-my clutch is a bear!

-I am going to go purchase my first "real' bike after so many lessons and practicing over and over... my toy bike (a rebel) has got to go. 883Low sportster has my name on it....but ONE problem-and I can't buy it until I know this is fixable.
THE CLUTCH is a bitch. I am not weak, bjt my hand cramps, hurts, dies,ok I'm going overboard here but it stinks. Is there any aftermarket something-new clutch lever/cables (HD says they have hydralic lines to make it easier(?) Any help I would soooo appreciate and before I buy-like next week-I want to make sure it will work!

the 06's and maybe 05's? have an easier clutch than the previous models. I've had rice burners that had stiffer clutch levers.[8D]

Cindy,

Here's a link to a thread on what your looking to do, it's a reduced effort clutch spring kit, which is offered by the MOCO.

Hope this helps, and welcome to the Forum, from Long Island, NY.

I also posted this on your new member thread.

I installed an MRC EZ Pull Clutch kit last fall on my '05 XL. Works like a charm. You can't beat it for 30 bucks. Here's the link:

I picked up one of those last fall, WHD, but haven't installed it yet. Just wondering where the reduced effort comes from. Does the lever travel farther between engaged/disengaged? How much effort reduction % did you realize with the mod? Is there a down-side, ie. fully engaging/disengaging?

As an afterthought, you might find the "Harley EZ-Pull Power Clutch from AMP Research" the best solution for you. Buddy of mine has one on his Classic and swears by it. I see them on eBay; they're about $70, which is a lot cheaper than what they originally sold for.

PS: is that SFO as in San Francisco, Cindy? Love that town. Grew up north of there. Still enjoy going back and playing tourist. But with those hills, I'd darn sure want a friendly clutch!!
