Default Is there a battery available for the Sporty...

... that does well in the cold weather.

I'm stuck at home, unable to go to work, because the friggin bike died on me. The battery gave out before the bike would turn over.

I have it on a charger now but its gonna take a few hours to bring it back to life.

I want something with ridiculous CCA.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks

I've been looking at dry cell batteries by Odyssey, which seem to focus on cold weather starting, but they have no battery for the 2004+ Sportsters.

+1 on the battery tender.

HD came out with a new line of AGM batteries last year. They are fully sealed and are Absorptive Glass Mat technology. Excellent batteries with solid terminal posts. Same technology as Odyssey.

I'd stay away from batteries that use hollow posts, here's why:

I assume I was supposed to know this information without you telling me it right?? Anyways, buy a new battery and a battery tender and use it, you want have this problem, but if your current battery lasted four years I'd think you got pretty good use out of it and it is time to get another just like it.

Nothing personal bud but my thread asked for advice on a battery with better than average cold cranking amps.

I have a battery tender... battery doc to be specific. That wasnt the issue.

I just seem to have trouble getting the bike turned over in cold weather... wondering if a different battery might not be the solution.

cheers

Do you happen to know if they work particularly well in the cold weather?

Looking at the specs on the Odyssey, the CCA's were ridiculous for the first 10 seconds. I figure that this is more what I am looking for since I will be riding the scoot year around.
