If Gazzathebastard is the same as Gazza from xlf. And I am guessing he is, him and his cohorts over there are big in to cutting and customizing their rides. Everybody's idea of custom is different. Some think if you changed it to your needs it is custom, some think you have to cut and make a bunch of parts to be custom. Me personally, if you have changed it to look, handle and perform the way you want. Whether with bolt-on, handmade or shop installed pieces it is custom to you. Either way it is a nice looking scoot, and the way you want it, so be proud and happy with it. And make sure to put the miles on it.

Jeepers creepers .... people are touchy today ... let's lighten up and take some
pills and put some rave music on and then touch each other a little. I want the
ones with the peace signs, but if someone else wants them I like the yellow
alien heads too or the tweety birds....

Of course it's me Flatlander, the world isn't big enough for two ******** like me
Bwaa ha ha ha - oh where'd my binky go - **** ?

BTW: Hyper chargers are gay... everyone knows that ... duh

Who's touchy Gazza? I was just making a point. The chopping and bobbin isn't nearly as prevalent over here as it is at XLF. Their is not right or wrong, just different strokes for different folks.

AHhhh I wasn't saying youre touchy Flatlander... I was talking to the dude that started the post, just got my howdy shout out to ya mixed in kinda weird in my post.

And yep there are different strokes for different folks.. that's cool... but if sledge is gonna post his work he sure oughta expect responses form folks with different strokes. He doesn't have to listen to them or give a rats *** what any one says... If he's gonna get all whiney then he shouldn't put it into the public for the expected hand clapping unless he' ready to handle the rare bit of heckling also.

hey gazza im not whining.im just sayin.maybe you have an unlimited budget i dont.so i do wat i can.i have alot of time in the scoot its mine.i dig guys that build from scratch thats cool as hell.i dont have the money for that.i am trying to get some dough together to buy a redneck frame to build my own scoot.buts its still going to be a sporty motor.and it will prob have alot of bolt ons but i will do all my own work and fab wat needs to be.and yes i will paint it myself.just might take 5 yrs...lol.and i did take it kinda personal.i dont consider myself one of them guys who goes to the dealer, orders parts ,drop of the bike and then pick it up when done.hell i dont even buy parts from the dealer.im a swapmeet kinda guy.i only have about 4500 in my ride with the price of the bike.so i think it looks dam good compared to 15000 bikes ppl buy buy....thanks for listening and i love this site.all kinds.still have freedom here.

No one has an unlimited budget. If your budget is low then you have even
more reason to build your own parts. This bike cost me 5 grand including the
original purchase, how much do you have in yours so far buying parts from a
catalog? I'm just preaching the gospel from my church, not really picking on
ya, just spreading the word of our holy father the angle grinder...

I have an expensive welder (Lincoln Precision 185 TIG - $1800), but the only
other tools used on this build were an angle grinder ($60), drill press ($150),
bench grinder with buffing wheels ($50) and a powder coat gun ($150 + $70
for a garage sale oven). Only expensive parts I bought were weldon hard tail
($420), seat pan ($40), seat shock ($100), rear fender ($100) and various
stockish parts that were worn out on the donor or stuff from Ace Hardware,
oh and lot's of bits and pieces of cold rolled steel from the tractor store, and
assorted doodads from swap meets.

And the paint was rattle can duplicolor from autozone...

I did everything myself in my barn. It took nine months to build including a
couple months of no progress where it was just too damned cold to go out
to the barn after the wife and kids went to bed and a month near the end
when I started to lose interest and didn't put any effort into it until my
desire kicked in again (and I got past the drudgery of building up a wiring
harness).

Bike itself was half the cost at $2500 - bunch of rust - nothing worth selling
on EBay to help defray costs.

But I did use that orange fender on my current build to extend the front of
the stock fender about four inches. And this one has a few more tools in the
barn that I've bought over the last year, tubing bender ($950), harbor freight
mini lathe ($350), sheet metal bending brake ($150)... more swap meet parts
and built from scratch parts (gas and oil tank, down tubes & backbone)... but
all done by me in my barn after the kids are in bed or on the weekends... oh
except I did buy one "catalog" part from Fab Kevin for this one that isn't in the
picture a new 7" front brake rotor and caliper ($600), I can't put it on though
until I make some new spacers for the front wheel or turn down the ones I
already made...
