Crash repair

Yes, you can get aftermarket controls that look & function exactly the same in black or chrome. You can even buy handle bar kits that have the controls prewired in the handle bars.

Because I want some OEM parts. My handle bars and controls (Run/ start, blinkers,high/low...ect) are f-d big time. The housings and the controls themselves are worn down from sliding. I would like the controls to be the way they were. I'm not even sure you can get those after market.

bringing back an old thread here....
I was wondering the same thing. I have a lien on my bike though through eaglemark savings. I was in an accident and the other people didn't have insurance. I can fix it myself for way cheaper than the HD estimated repair costs. So if the insurance check is issued to me and eaglemark, that means I don't get to deposit that sucker in my account eh?

In my wreck last year the check was written to me and to the dealership. I signed it when I was happy with the work. I didn't ask about fixing it myself because insurance covered it all anyway, but I'm sure HD Financial wouldn't want me making major repairs to THEIR motorcycle.

Some of you may know I hit a deer a couple of weeks ago. I'm still in the insurance co waiting game. I was thinking about this and what says I can't fix my bike myself? That way I can put the parts I want on it (change bars different bags & so on). It's sitting at the dealer right now but after the estimate / insurance adjuster is done I should just be able to get it right? I'm pretty sure I can fix it for under what they want. Of course I will do my home work first to make sure. I feel kinda bad about this because they did do the estimates and check the bike over but I'm sure I'd have to pay for that. Anyone ever dealt with stuff like this that can give me some advice. Thanks
